Fäbodknäcke is a slightly more luxurious bread for festive occasions. The inspiration for this knäckebröd comes from one of Leksands Knäckebröd's former bakers, Land Alice Gustafsson. At the Skallskog fäboden where she grew up, not far from Leksand, baking knäckebröd was part of everyday life. After many years as a baker at Leksands Knäckebröd, Alice retired to her childhood fäboden.
