Mushrooms with crispbread is a classic. Since the knäckebröd is perfect for putting in the oven, 225 degrees, for 5-10 minutes, it is easy to make a mushroom sandwich where the cheese has melted and is that delicious golden brown. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or as a snack.
Right now, in mushroom times, it's incredibly luxurious to pick your mushrooms in the forest when you make your mushroom sandwich. If you have picked your mushrooms in the woods, you should only use ones you know and are sure of. Of course, you can use mushrooms that you can buy in your grocery store, fresh or frozen.
Most of the time, the simple is what tastes best. Below are some different knäckebröd recipes with mushrooms as a side dish:
Ingredients for two sandwiches:
Do this:
Thinly slice the mushroom.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
Press the garlic into the butter.
Add the mushrooms, thyme, salt and pepper.
Fry the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and soft.
Place the mushrooms on the crispbread.
Grate over cheese, if desired.
If you want a warm sandwich, you can put it in the oven at 225 degrees for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and is a lovely golden brown. Top it with chives or parsley after taking them out of the oven to make it more luxurious.
